Diana Miao

I am a VFX professional working as an artist and supervisor on feature films since 1996. My strengths are in texture painting, look development and lighting of digital assets that range from tiny bullets, to dinosaurs, airplanes, characters, set extensions and full CG environments. I have often been a lead artist, supervising work from the beginning with set photography and asset creation, until the end by delivering shot sequences. I have spent the past few years working as a freelancer both remotely and on site, mainly as a texture painter for both films and television.

I am currently based in Los Angeles. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my work.

I had originally planned to study Illustration in college, but changed my major to learn about architecture, furniture and object design. It was an amazing time for me, as I got to spend 3 years in the wood and metal shops fabricating furniture, building models, and making architectural drawings with mechanical pens. I learned how to draw and make things by hand before hopping onto the computer to learn form-Z in my senior year. My life in the digital world started then, and I haven’t looked back.
